Born on March 6th 1957. Badlapur. ( Maharashtra)

  • Diploma in Drawing & Painting from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, 1979
  • B. F. A . Drawing & Painting. Mumbai University, 1984

Won many Prizes as a Student :

  • Silver Medal, Dept. of Drawing & Painting at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, 1979
  • First Prize at All India Art Exhibition held by Indian Railway, New Delhi, 1979
  • Gold Medal at Dept. of  Teachers Training at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai,  1980

Awards & Achievements as a Professional Artist :

  • Honored with ‘Fellowship for Senior Artist’, Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India,                2000- 2002   


  • Maharashtra State Award, Mumbai, 1995, 1997 and 2000 
  • Awarded  “Vijoo Sadvelkar Award” as  'Woman Artist Of the Year, 99' ,  1999
  • First Prize for Painting in Art Society of India, Mumbai, 1993

  • She was invited at many Artist Camps including Swaraj Bhawan, Bhopal,  2003

  • She has delivered Portrait Demonstrations and Art appreciation Lectures in many Art    Colleges and Public Institutions.

Jyotsna Kadam has deep interest in Indian Classical Music, Literature & Writings on Art.
  • She has written numerous Articles in Marathi concerning Artists and their Art which   are published in Newspapers and Magazines.
  • Her 'Lalit Lekhan' ( Free expressive Literary Articles)  published in many     Marathi Magazines and Newspapers are appreciated by many scholars and readers.
  • Her Autobiography written in Marathi “Sir Ani Mee”  has won several Awards        including 'Bhairu Ratan Damani Puraskar' and Maharashtra State Award for Literature,      2010

  • Jyotsna plays Pakhavaj for her self expression and meditation since 1985.

  • Paintings have been own by many private collections in India & abroad.
